BIO

As a kid, I was always able to pick up any instrument and make music with it. I like to inspire this curiosity in my students. Along with an emphasis on technique, I like to allow the student the freedom to explore their instrument and express themselves in a way that is truly their own.

I currently serve as the Director of Music at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine in St. Augustine, FL where I enjoy conducting the choirs and playing organ. I have led faith communities in liturgical music across the country, including St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Odessa, TX, St. Joseph’s in Boston, MA, Our Lady of Lourdes in Melbourne, FL, St. Paul’s in Cambridge, MA, and St. Thomas the Apostle in West Hartford, CT.

I studied music and theology at Boston University School of Theology and The Hartt School in Hartford, CT. My master's thesis explored the role of music in creating liturgical environment. My research interests include liturgy, early music, church diversity, and interfaith dialogue.

I perform regularly as a countertenor (high male voice), organist, oboist, and recorder player (yes, this classroom instrument is actually virtuosic!). I compose music for voices and instruments, and some of my pieces have been featured by choirs around the United States and Canada.

I enjoy working on collaborative music projects with surrounding faith communities, local emerging musicians, and city-wide events. By combining my passions, I strive to use music as a unifier to bring people of different backgrounds together.
